Winter North Atlantic NOVAK Showreel

Wipe Out Music are proud to represent the composer Ed Carter, also the man behind the band Winter North Atlantic For their latest showreel, NOVAK also chose a Winter North Atlantic track, Yaga’s Cabin from the album Phonautogram:

The last Winter North Atlantic album ‘Phonautogram’ was described by The Wire as “A work of consummate craftsmanship, as detailed and delicate as an old fashioned timepiece.”

Since the release, Ed Carter has been focusing on developing a diverse portfolio of musical compositions, films and interdisciplinary artworks that are context-specific, with a focus on the creative process.

He has produced ambitious work with budgets in excess of £500,000, collaborating with a wide range of partners including architects, scientists, engineers, and programmers, and has received awards from such diverse organisations as Channel 4, Arts Council England, Ordnance Survey, Cancer Research UK, and the Royal Academy of Engineers. Ed has also been commissioned to write bespoke music in response to specific architectural contexts, including performances and installations at Sage Gateshead, The Lowry, and Singapore Art Museum.

These projects led to regular collaborations with visual studio NOVAK, who specialise in creating large format video, and stunning outdoor projection mapping works. Working as composer and sound designer, Ed’s scores and productions have been presented at numerous stunning locations, including UNESCO World Heritage Site Durham Castle, the BAFTA headquarters in London, and Singapore Art Museum.
